what to wear: apple picking & pumpkin patches

sometimes it’s hard to figure out what to wear for certain occasions, but i’m pretty sure that apple and pumpkin picking can be simple. you can go traditional or spice it up a little with more on-trend pieces. whatever you decide to wear, don’t go over the top with accessories or makeup, for that matter. but it’s also an okay time to want to look cute too!

hitting the orchards and patches is definitely a time to hit up the plaid – i mean, how much more perfectly fall can you get than some plaid flannel?!

my picks were inspired by the ever perfectly dressed emily:

obviously flannel is the go-to choice for an apple orchard or pumpkin patch. i love a less traditional plaid – ones with bright colors and a feminine cut. or you could steal one from a guy – that’s cool too! and if you never wear red, i would recommend trying it – i think it looks great on everyone!

the weekend according to instagram

the first weekend of october treated us well – the weather is finally starting to feel seasonal and layers were finally appropriate. there was some pumpkin picking with hayrides and games for the kids (yes, we were big kids this weekend) and a scary scare crow!

there was also some lounging, my brother’s adorable dog, shoe organizing and tailgate pizza.

and of course a giants serious win over the browns.

what did you do this weekend?
