I’ve had this one in the back of my head since last summer, just before I got pregnant with our second, Ava, and have had all the ingredients just sitting and waiting for the right moment.

The time has come! This is a bourbon and cherry mule – the smokey bourbon is perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the cherries and the spice of ginger beer.

Boozy Peanut Butter Dalgona https://herlongwayhome.com/boozy-peanut-butter-dalgona/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=boozy-peanut-butter-dalgona https://herlongwayhome.com/boozy-peanut-butter-dalgona/#respond Tue, 28 Apr 2020 13:00:16 +0000 https://herlongwayhome.com/?p=5687 Continue Reading…]]> Did you even quarantine if you haven’t made a Dalgona? I’ll tell you what – you haven’t lived if you haven’t made these boozy peanut butter dalgonas!

I had been putting off making a Dalgona for what feels like months because, seriously, everyone is doing it and what can I show you that you hadn’t seen already? And then, I thought, maybe this would work with that peanut butter whiskey sitting on our bar. I can tell you, it does. Oh boy, does it ever.

First, you make a peanut butter Dalgona. Yeah, that’s right, we’re upping the ante on the Dalgona on all fronts. So you add a bit more sugar and water and then some powdered peanut butter. It’s divine.

Then, you top the ice and milk with a shot of Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey. Then you pop the Dalgona on top and some sprinkles and then enjoy your handy work.

So, I’ve seen a bunch of runny Dalgonas floating around – the key to this super fluffy foam is patience. You have to keep working it until it hits a whipped cream-like consistency. I will tell you – it’s probably best in a stand mixer. You can get the mixture up to a high speed and really get the right amount of air in there.

Tell me if you make these!

Grapefruit Gin Paloma Cocktails https://herlongwayhome.com/grapefruit-gin-paloma-cocktails/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=grapefruit-gin-paloma-cocktails https://herlongwayhome.com/grapefruit-gin-paloma-cocktails/#respond Thu, 24 May 2018 16:21:08 +0000 https://herlongwayhome.com/?p=3833 Continue Reading…]]> So, I cannot stop with the grapefruit cocktails this year! (See my skinny grapefruit marg from a few weeks ago here.) Traditionally, a paloma features tequila, but here I’ve used gin. You should feel free to substitute gin for the traditional choice of tequila; vodka will also work!

This gin grapefruit cocktail will serve you well as the days get longer and the nights get hotter. You can bet this will be served at our get togethers this summer – I mean, hello, pitcher drink! I love finishing this cocktail with a sprig of mint. While it doesn’t really add to the mouth-flavor it adds to the scent-flavor! A ripe grapefruit is so heavenly, and when you add some fresh mint into the mix, it really is divine.

Fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, sweetened lime juice, a splash of club and an ounce and-a-half of gin, and a sprig of mint – it’s that simple!

Grapefruit Gin Paloma Cocktail Recipe

Yield: 1 Cocktail | Time: 2 minutes

Ingredients:

1.5 oz gin (you can also substitute tequila or vodka)

3 oz fresh squeezed grapefruit juice* (see note)

.5 oz sweetened lime juice*

Splash of club

Ice cubes

Sprig of mint

*If you decide to use store bought grapefruit juice, I would suggest foregoing the sweetened lime juice in favor of fresh squeezed limes. Up to you!
