How to Make Simple Guacamole

Guacamole is so quick and easy to make and easily customizable to your tastes! You don't need fancy equipment, though a potato masher can make it come together a little more quickly. Be sure to leave some chunks of avocado for a real homemade, authentic experience.

Ingredients

  • 6 ripe avocados
  • .5 small red onion, finely diced
  • 3 tbsp cilantro, finely minced
  • 1-2 juiced limes I usually use 2 or 3!
  • salt, to taste

Instructions

  • Carefully cut the avocados, removing the put and placing the pulp in a large mixing bowl.
  • Smash the avocados, leaving some larger chunks for a more homemade guacamole.
  • Add onion, cilantro, lime juice and salt to taste and mix until well combined.
  • Taste guacamole with your dipper (i.e., tortilla chip) to check for salt; add more as needed.

Notes

There are so many ways you can customize guacamole! Try it with chopped scallions in lieu of red onion, or even sweet onion; tomatoes can be added or even watermelon! Top it with cayenne for a little heat or chop up a raw jalapeno for a spicy guac!
