Stove Top Popcorn
Forget microwaveable popcorn, make your own & enjoy all your favorite toppings!
- 1/4 c popcorn kernels
- 3 tbsp olive oil or butter
- salt to taste, or favorite toppings
Over medium heat, combine the kernels and oil. Stir to coat the kernels in oil.
Place cover on the pot.
When you hear the first kernel pop, remove from the heat for 30 seconds.
After 30 seconds, place the pot back on the heat, shaking until the kernels pop completely.
While shaking, occasionally tilt the lid ever so slightly to allow steam to escape. If your popcorn tries to escape or the pot gets too full, remove some of the popped corn into a bowl and then continue shaking with the lid on.
When the popping slows down to 5-10 seconds between popping, remove from the heat.
