The Greatest Cornbread Recipe of All Time
I’m not one to tout anything I make as the greatest anything of all time. Okay, maybe I’ll say “the greatest something or other I’ve ever made ever.” That I’ll do. However, this is going to be that one time exception. You’re going to want this recipe forever and ever and it will be the greatest cornbread you ever have until you go to Founding Farmers. And then it’ll be the greatest cornbread recipe you’ve ever made of all time.
I wish you could scratch and sniff your screen. I wish you could just reach in and grab this little slice of heaven.
I have memories of my mom making cornbread muffins as a kid, and they were always one of my favorite things she would make. And then we went to Founding Farmers and had their cornbread skillet, and sorry mom, but it was a revelation.
I always find myself going back to this recipe, which I know, is never as good as the restaurant experience (I think the secret is in the honey bread they serve with it…plus magic. They’re just magic over there.). But I’ve served this in the summer with BBQ, and now I’m serving it with our Christmas menu. Because it’s perfect and if someone makes this for you, know that they love you.
So, guys, know that I love you.
