Skinny Orange Pitcher Margaritas Recipe
If you asked me to pick one drink for the rest of my life, I think I’d have to go with margaritas. I mean, they’re so versatile so if you chose margaritas you’d have basically endless possibilities. As solid as picking tacos or pizza for your one food, right?

For cinco de mayo, I obviously couldn’t not serve margaritas, right? Plus, margaritas are a perfect cocktail for a crowd. You can whip up a pitcher so easily, taste and adjust as necessary and guests can serve themselves. I’ll be honest, I set out to make a good ol’ skinny margarita using OJ instead of triple sec or cointreau. Then, I really just went for that orange-forward flavor. They were deeeeelish!


Alright, so, you know by now I have a deep love and obsession with salt. So, to be honest, I think I love margaritas so much because it’s (relatively) acceptable to lick the rim of your glass – if it’s not, never tell me. A margarita is a vehicle for salt!
I love a heavily salted rim – whenever we are out and I order a margarita I tell them heavy on the salt. Here for it. If you’re not, skip it! I would recommend that you only leave the lime wedge on the rim and the cocktail salt to the side for your guests. This way, if they want to salt the rim of their glass they can use the lime wedge and dunk to get the amount of salt they want. If they don’t want salt, then they’ve got a cute little lime wedge on their glass.

I mean, just lookkkk at that salt! You know this girl has made your cocktail if there’s an inch of salt on your rim. (Swear I don’t salt this heavily – hubby was talking to me as I was dipping them and I went way too far down!)

So anyway! You can make just about any flavor of marg a skinny marg if you stick to just blanco tequilla, lemon, lime, fruit flavor/juice (went with unsweetened fresh OJ for these) and skip the sugar. Or, you can add a little bit of sugar with liquid stevia, agave, sweetened lime juice or simple syrup. But I would say, never skip the salt. xo
