Basil Lemon Vinaigrette Dressing

I hope you’re all ready for a lot of recipes with basil and lemon. You should see the list of recipes I have coming! Lots of fresh herbs, especially basil. This vinaigrette has been on repeat here, from salads to sandwiches to drizzling over roasted veg. We’ve even used it as a marinade for chicken.

And you can’t go wrong having a few vinaigrette recipes in your back pocket!

This guy is simple but really packs so much flavor. It’s just a mix of good quality olive oil, mustard (I prefer Trader Joe’s dijon for all my mustard needs), grated garlic, lemon juice, basil, salt and pepper.

Simple right? But packs a punch of flavor and I’m loving it.

Check out my homemade buttermilk ranch dressing here, a delish cilantro vinaigrette, and our OG vinaigrette I reach for a whole lot.

Lemon Basil Vinaigrette

For more than just salads – use this springy vinaigrette for sandwiches, over roasted veggies, as a marinade for chicken. Anything you want!
Prep Time 5 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c olive oil
  • 2 tsp white wine vinegar
  • 1-2 tbsp mustard
  • 2-4 grated cloves of garlic (I always use 4+, we like the garlic flavor)
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 2 tbsp chopped basil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a jar and shake like heck until the vinaigrette comes together.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary. If you get a forward tasting olive oil flavor, add a little more mustard and lemon; if it’s too mustardy, add some more lemon, garlic and a bit more oil.
